FDLCT will once again participate in the Labor Day Parade in Fond du Lac on Monday, Sept. 6 and we’d love for you to be part of the fun!!!

We’ll meet at the firestation at 9 a.m. for costuming, travel over to the parade route on our trailer at 10, and line up in the lot at Macy and Main, near Giddings and Lewis.

The parade begins at 11.

The route ends at Lakeside Park. Participants can be dropped off at the Park or continue on the trailer back to the firestation.

Our annual membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 20 at 6:30 pm at FDLCT Building, 250 West 9th Street. All members and those wishing to become members are welcome!
Topics include a recap of our 2009-2010 season; recognition of the Dave Jones Memorial Scholarship winner; voting for officers and board members; and announcements for our upcoming season.

Fond du Lac Community Theatre will be participating in a Cemetery Walk on Saturday, June 19th between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM at Reinzi Cemetery. Actors will dress in costume and tell stories about people who are buried at this historic cemetery.

Are you ready for the summer experience of a lifetime? Students will participate in an exciting three-week workshop from 9:30 to 2:30 daily. Students will work with theatre professionals in areas of dance, acting and singing. Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of musical theatre song, dance and acting while also challenging their level of skill.

Guest workshops will be presented by professional actors from New York City.

The three week workshop will end in an exciting revue-style show, presenting all the material learned over the three weeks (monologues, songs, dances, etc).

August 9th-27th at the FDL Community Theatre Building. 9:30 am-2:30 pm Monday-Friday.

Application forms for the Dave Jones Memorial Scholarship are now available in the guidance and financial services offices at all area high schools, universities, and technical colleges. This scholarship has been made available by FDLCT since 1979 and was named after Dave Jones, a long time member of the organization. He was a dedicated man who always acknowledged and strongly supported the youth involved in Fond du Lac Community Theatre's shows.

Applicants are asked to showcase their involvement in FDLCT's productions. They must have been involved in at least two Fond du Lac Community Theatre shows. Involvement could be in any capacity, either performing on stage, playing in the orchestra, or participating behind the scenes doing other committee work. The scholarship offered is in the amount of $250.00 per semester, for two semesters. Applicants can be pursuing any field in post-secondary education. All applications need to be submitted by April 1st, 2010. It is necessary to meet this deadline in order to be considered by the Board of Directors at the April meeting. The twinkle in her eye, the dazzling smile, the hearty laugh, the steadfast dedication and caring are gone but the memory of our dear friend Lucy Le Mieux will forever be in our hearts. We miss her but we will cherish her memory.

We just finished our Christmas show, "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas." This show was staged for just four performances on one weekend only, Thursday through Sunday, December 10, 11, 12 and 13.

This was the first time FdLCT had staged this show. Congratulations to the cast and crew on a fine job.

Our annual, traditional Fond du Lac Community Theatre Christmas / New Year's Party will be held again this year in January. All FdLCT members, current and past (alumni), and their guests are hereby cordially invited to attend. As always, it's "Dutch Treat" -- each person pays for his or her own drinks and meal.

We always have a lot of fun celebrating and catching up with our FdLCT friends. We hope to see you there.

Coming up next, Fond du Lac Community Theatre will be presenting a new show this year – a Valentine’s Show called “Love is in the Air.” Just as "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" will be our Christmas greeting to the Fond du Lac area, "Love Is in the Air" will be our Valentine's Day greeting.

The show will be staged for two days only, on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13, 2010. This show is not one of our Season Ticket offerings, so tickets must be purchased separately. By the way, they would make great Christmas Gifts, especially for those hard-to-buy-for theatre-lovers.

The show is being directed by Maggie Matysik, who previously directed "The Mother Goose Network" with Mary Wohlust.
